Batteries on the cheap

Recently I bought at Country Dollar 4-packs of AA batteries and 2-packs of 9-volt batteries for ... guess?

First, let me tell you that the day before I bought one 4-pack of AA batteries at United Dairy Farmers (gas station in Ohio) for about $5; then I saw them at Walmart for more than $5.

OK. At Country Dollar (and likely lots of other "dollar stores") they cost $1 each pack. Made in China, shipped across the ocean, delivered to the local outlets - for less than 1/5 the U.S. rip-off price.

China may not be the best place from which to buy, but it's offering lots of savings for U.S. consumers who are willing to shop around. Be sure to see this.
